 Strong Era

For the first time in his life, Roderick Strong understands what it means to have something — or someone — worth fighting for.
Strong had his share of obstacles to overcome, including a messy home life. That’s why he spent his upbringing escaping to the wrestling ring set up in his backyard. Now with a family of his own, Strong spends his time in the squared circle for an entirely different reason: to give his son the life he never had.
A seasoned veteran of sports-entertainment, Strong traveled around the world for decades plying his craft, becoming an international star in the process. Armed with an encyclopedic knowledge of devastating backbreakers, he’s left a pile of broken men in his wake wherever he goes. READ MORE

Undisputed ERA laid out Ricochet: NXT Coverage, August 8, 2018

NXT Digitals | Video Captures

Though Ricochet was scheduled for action, he never even made it to the ring, due to a vicious behind-the-scenes siege by Undisputed ERA.

The One and Only’s music played, but the ghastly results of Undisputed ERA’s attack soon became all too clear to the NXT fans in Full Sail Live, as the faction dragged Ricochet’s limp body onto the stage.

With his challenger at TakeOver: Brooklyn 4 laying at his feet, Adam Cole stated that he is the one and only NXT North American Champion, and he promised that fact wouldn’t change after he and Ricochet do battle on Aug. 18.

The Panama City Playboy insists that he’s no coward, but when it comes to Ricochet, actions appear to speak louder than words.

The Undisputed Era shows up and Roderick says that if Oney does come back, they will be at the back of the line for the tag team titles. Kyle says they are at the front of the line because they are going to invoke their rematch clause. Adam calls Danny a loser and he tells him to leave.

Danny says that they don’t have their tag title belts and he reminds Kyle he pinned him.

Adam says that they have been cocky ever since he gave Oney a North American Title Match.

Danny suggests that Adam face him next week.

Adam laughs and he accepts the challenge. The Undisputed Era walk away.

NXT U.K. Championship Tournament Night 2 Digitals | NXT U.K. Championship Tournament Night 2 Video Captures

Night Two at Royal Albert Hall kicked off with a bang — or, rather, a Bop and a Bang — as Moustache Mountain defended their home turf and became the new NXT Tag Team Champions with a stirring victory against Undisputed ERA.

The irreverent champions, Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong, unloaded a cavalcade of hard strikes, but Tyler Bate & Trent Seven were firing on all cylinders, both individually and as a unit. “Textbook” Bate’s remarkable feats of strength (such as fighting off O’Reilly’s sleeper hold while deadlifting Strong into a suplex) were game-changing, as was Seven’s savvy ring awareness.

Undisputed ERA, who were perhaps still reeling from losing to British Strong Style in a Six-Man Tag Team Match the night before, also suffered from pivotal miscalculations. A missed high-low attempt late in the match opened the door for Seven & Bate to hit O’Reilly with an incredible Torture Rack/flying knee drop combination. The referee counted to three and the NXT Universe erupted. As chants of “You deserve it!” carried through Royal Albert Hall, Moustache Mountain took the titles over the ring barricade and celebrated with their countrymen.

The Undisputed Era are in the back and Adam Cole says that last week was a fluke. The funniest part of last week was that they will hang their hats on that victory their entire careers. Roderick says they should not be facing them at Takeover. Kyle says it is Pete Dunne’s fault for giving them false hope. They didn’t even know who they were. Bobby says the charade comes to an end in Chicago. Roderick says he has no patience and he waits for no man. He wants Mr. Number Two Daniel Burch. He will show Burch that last week was a fluke and they are way out of their league.
